In terms of County Days on the 1st October Lincolnshire celebrates its county day, shich commemorates the Lincolnshire uprising of 1536.
On the 19th of August Oxford shire celebrates the day of its Patron Saint, St. Frideswide.
On the 23rd of the month, it’s not an official County Day for Warwickshire (as that falls on the 23rd April) but another that proud county can celebrate, which commemorates the Battle of Edgehill during the English Civil War.
Two other County Days during October follow within a month of each other, with Northamptonshire celebrating St.Crispin’s Day on the 25th and Essex celebrating St.Cedd’s Day on the 26th of the month.
Cultural England supports inclusive county pride and celebration. It should not be time for exclusiveness, but days where all those born in these counties or who live there should celebrate. They are days when ALL people in these counties can come together – or in the present restrictions in groups of no more than six. England is more than just a flag, its made up of traditional regions and counties. So be proud of where you live or where you are from, fly your county flag and be part of your county’s day of celebration.
